Global Carbon Standard Registry

The Global Carbon Standard (GCS) registry is a specialized system or database that tracks the ownership and trade of carbon tokens or debits that have been certified under the Global Carbon Standard.

This standard is an internationally recognized certification system for carbon offset projects, that verifies and guarantees that the emissions reductions from these projects are real, additional and permanent. The GCS registry allows for the tracking of the ownership of these verified emissions reductions, that are represented in the form of carbon tokens or debits. The GCS registry ensures the integrity and transparency of the carbon market, by preventing fraud or double-counting of emissions reductions, and it is accessible for all market participants to track the origin and ownership of the carbon tokens or debits.
